Today, we looked at using digital portfolios, specifically SeeSaw, ourselves.

Some of the things that I really liked about it are:

  • easy of uploading information,
  • ability to view all of the child’s work at once,
  • ease in updating parents and communicating with them,
  • ability to assign work for students on the app, and
  • classroom community building by being able to see and comment on others’ work.

I can see myself possibly using it if even just for the sake of having all of the student’s work in one place. This eliminates the issue of students possibly losing work and makes it much easier for report cards by seeing the student’s progress

All of this being said, it would have to be something that could easily be done by the students in the classroom. Whether this means through students having the app on their phones, a school or class iPad, or something like that.
